Notes for WILLIAM RICHMOND:
Left W.A. and went back to UK in 1931 because of the Depression, no work in Scotland either. "Jack" in Sunderland helped him get a shop and he started a bakery, a pastrycook was employed to bake cakes. Hugh Morton, his brother-in-law, lent money to help get the business started.
When Marion was born, William and Barbara were sent to a "friend" who then presented the grieving parents with a bill for the expenses the children had incurred whilst staying with her. She also made the children give 1/2 their pocketmoney to her children.
